Dale Allen Groves, 73, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at his daughter's home in Lewisport, KY. He was born July 3, 1950, in Tell City, IN, the son of Keith and Marie (Brunner) Groves.
After graduating from Tell City High School, Dale joined the United States Navy. He was a dedicated worker for the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers for 36 years. Dale was a Tell City Precinct Committeemen for many years, Chairman for the Democratic Party of Perry County for 8 years, and Deputy Chairman of the Indiana 8th Congressional District Democrats for 4 years. Dale was a member of the Tell City Moose Lodge 1424, VFW Post 2939 and the Tell City American Legion Post 213. He enjoyed politics, motorcycles, being outside, fishing, rock-n-roll music, and most of all his grand kids.
Surviving is his daughter, Breann Groves (Jonathan Rice) of Lewisport; brothers, Jimmy (Eva) Groves of Tell City and Denny Groves of Lynn Haven, FL; grandchildren, Kenadee Groves and Ashlynn Groves.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry and Don Groves.
Services will be 7pm Thursday, July 27, 2023. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 2pm to 7pm on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at the funeral home.
