Fanny died 6 months later in a fire aged 18
Thomas next married Ellen Jones at the residence of Rev John Moir, Woolcombe Street, Wellington, on 10 May 1871.
After Ellen died from heart failure Thomas lived with his sister, Mary Campbell, at Mount Bruce
