Rufus Carroll Crews
(March 5, 1930 - March 30, 2008)

Rufus Carroll "R.C." Crews, 78, of Folkston, passed away Sunday March 30 at his residence following an extended illness. He was a native and life long resident of Charlton County. His parents were the late Rufus F. Crews and the late Minnie Jane Johns Crews. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He retired from CSX Transportation as a Signal Maintainer after 42 ½ years of dedicated service. He was a member of Buford Grove Baptist Church and the Gideons.

He is survived by his wife: Frances (Foerman) Crews of Folkston, GA; 5-Children: Cindy (Bill) Russ of Richmond, VA, Carl Crews of Lancaster, TX, David (Sheila) Crews of Folkston, GA, Mark (Tami) Crews of Kingsland, GA, and Joy (Donnie) Clark of Folkston, GA; Sister: Annie Jane (Leroy) Knight of Jacksonville, FL; 5-Brothers: Newton (Eliza) Crews of Nahunta, GA, Morris "Bill" (Earlene) Crews of Kingsland, GA, Bobby (Alice Sue) Crews of Woodbine, GA, Delmus (Trellis) Crews of Kingsland, GA, and Donald Crews of St. Marys, GA; 9-Grandchildren: Kamaran Gay, Jennie Sharfner, Lathan Crews, Byron Crews, Brandon Crews, Ethan Crews, Miranda Crews, Stephen Perreira, and Jacob Perreira; 2-Great Grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Tuesday April 1 at Shepard Funeral Home in Folkston from 6-8 PM. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 2 at 11:00 AM at Buford Grove Baptist Church in Hilliard with Rev. Curtis Harrington officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Bachlott Cemetery in Brantley County with military honors.
