Adão Francisco Bettencourt, age 74, of Livingston, California passed away at his home on Friday, July 21, 2023. Adão was born in Cruzal, São Jorge, Açores to Maria Lourdes Nunes and José Alves Bettencourt.
Adão is survived by his spouse of 48 years, Matilde Filomena Bettencourt of Livingston and his daughter Phyllis Borba (Louie) of Hilmar. Adão is also survived by his siblings, Manuel Bettencourt, Antonio Bettencourt (Margarida), Luis Bettencourt (Tina), Pedro Alves (Maria), Leo Bettencourt (Angie), Filomena Alves (Joáo) all of Canada and Madalena Gomes (Serafim) of Martinez. Adão also leaves behind his grandchildren Allison and Jake Borba along with many nieces and nephews to honor his memory.
Adão was preceded in death by his father José Alves Bettencourt, his mother Maria Lourdes Nunes along with his siblings José Bettencourt, Joáo Bettencourt, Fernando Bettencourt and Fatima Bettencourt.
Adão was a member of The Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus in Livingston, California.
A Visitation for Adão will be held Monday, July 31, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Recitation of the Rosary and Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Shrine of Saint Jude Thaddeus, 330 Franci St., Livingston, CA 95334.
A Committal Service will occur Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Winton Cemetery District, 7651 Almond Avenue, Winton, CA 95388.
Serving as pallbearers are Frank Bettencourt, Johnny Bettencourt, Samuel Cardoso, Joseph Furtado, Mark Furtado and Jake Borba.
