Lillian Derina was the daughter of John William and Janie Elizabeth (Biggs) Matthews. Lillian had twin brothers that preceeded her in death. The date on their headstones is September 8, 1879. They were buried on her grandparents (Miles & Rebecca Biggs) home place in the McNeil community, due to a flood at the time of their death. After Lillian's mothers death , John William Matthews married Henrietta Smith, a friend of the Biggs family. Their children were Chester W. Matthews, Maggie Devina(Matthews)Benner, and Pearl Frances(Matthews)Hanson.
Her headstone reads: Our Little Darling - Lillian Matthews - Born April 22, 1875 - Died Oct. 10, 1880 - Suffer Little Children To Come Unto Me And Forbid Them Not: For Such Is The Kingdom Of Heaven.
