A celebration of his life will be held 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, at Heritage Greens Chapel. Burial will be held at Salisbury National Cemetery at a later date.
William was born on August 6, 1919, the son of William and Ethel Reynolds Bardsley. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, serving as Aviation Machinist Mate in the South Pacific Theatre. He married Jane Marilyn Heaton, July 14, 1946, who preceded him in death in 1993. He worked as department manager of parts department at Domestic Appliance in Miami from 1947 until 1985 when he retired. He continued to live in Miami until 2002 when he came to Greensboro to be near his family.
He was very popular at Heritage Greens. He loved to make people laugh. Whenever someone would ask how he was, he would say, "can't complain, nobody listens." He was an excellent pool player and loved to play with his son, Scott and grandson, Jes. He was a wonderful husband, father, grand-dad, and will be missed by his family.
William is survived by his four sons, William H. Bardsley, Steven James Bardsley, John Keith Bardsley and Scott Gregory Bardsley; four grandchildren, children of Scott and Lori Bardsley; Demi Bardsley, Jes Bardsley and Eavan Bardsley; child of Steven Bardsley, Jennifer Bardsley.
