Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Polk Street United Methodist Church. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Citizens Cemetery of Clarendon by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle.
Mr. White, loving father, husband, and grandfather, was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Clarendon and graduated from Texas Tech University with a B.S. and M.S. in chemical engineering and completed his doctoral coursework at Texas A&M University.
During his college years, he was a member of ATO fraternity. He was employed as a chemical and environmental engineer at the Bureau of Land Management Helium Operations and was a member of the Society of Professional Engineers.
He was a leader of Boy Scout Troop 86 for several years and a member of the Pantex Plant Citizens Advisory Board. He was a faithful member of Polk Street United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday school for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank White III of Clarendon.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn; children, Gene Edmiston, Frank White IV, and Elizabeth White; an aunt, Helen Oakes Holt; grandchildren, Dillan and Hannah Edmiston; nieces and nephews; and other loving family members.
The family suggests, in lieu of flowers, memorials be to Polk Street United Methodist Church, 1401 S. Polk St., Amarillo, TX 79101; or to First United Methodist Church, 420 S. Jefferson, Clarendon, TX 79226.
