Hannah M. Tanner, daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Tanner, was born in Wellington County, Ontario on March 12, 1860 and moved with her parents to Sheridan township, Mecosta County, Michigan in the year 1867. She was united in marriage to John Henry Cummings on April 14, 1878 and to this union were born six sons and four daughters. She became a member of the congregation of the Church of Christ of Barryton about 1900 and was always an active member of the Ladies Aid of that church until recent years when her health prevented. On May 27, 1904 she became a Charter member of the Barryton Rebekah Lodge which was organized at that time. Having lived 79 years, 10 months, and 11 days, she departed this life on January 23, 1940. She was preceded in death by her husband and two daughters and leaves to mourn their loss six sons, Ruben, John, Ben, Robert, Charles and Duncan, and two daughters, Lorenzia Kuhry and May Plumton; 37 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one sister, Sarah Miller, many nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Interment was in the Flake Cemetery on Saturday, January 27. She was a kind and loving mother and will be sadly missed by all.

Cards of Thanks: To our many friends and neighbors who sent the beautiful flowers, fruit, cards and plants during the illness and death of our dear mother, to the minister for comforting words, to the singers, to the Rebekahs for the dinner and assistance and to all who helped in any way wewish to convey our heartfelt thanks.
