Grant A. Long, 82, of Bean Station, passed away suddenly Thursday afternoon as a result of a highway accident. He was a retired farmer and attended the Baptist Church. He is survived by a granddaughter, Mrs. J.R. Johnson, a sister, Mrs. J.H. Wright, both of Bean Station; brothers, Bruce Long of Bean Station, Clem Long of Iowa, Herbert Long of Colorado, and Clisby and Paul Long of Indiana; and four other grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 Sunday, at Stubblefield's Chapel. The Reverend Olaf Atkins and John Collins will officiate. Interment will be at Adriel Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home. Stubblefield's is in charge. This obituary was in the Daily Gazette on July 25, 1969.
