*** Her sons, Lynn and Glenn, were on the same transport ship, the HMT Rohna, when it was hit by a German guided missile on 26 Novemeber 1943. Lynn was never found and in June 1944 a letter was received officially stating Lynn was KIA.
Sadly grandma was already gone. Glenn was sworn to secrecy and rarely even spoke of this tragic experience that took his twin brother. The documents detailing this were sealed by the government for 50 years.
