Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Grover and Talsie Sheriff Bruce. She was a homemaker and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of the Heirloom Needle Art Club FCL and Heirloom Red Hat Society, and a member of the Pearly Girl Birthday Club.
Surviving are two daughters, Marie Armstrong and Sloan Stewart, and Sharon Armstrong and Jerry Brewington, all of Laurens; two sisters, Arzettie Moore of Seneca, and Jean Spurlock of Greenville; one granddaughter, Jessica Armstrong; and one daughter-in-law, Carolyn C. Armstrong.
She was predeceased by a son, Marion L. "Mickey" Armstrong, Jr.
