Edna Louise Duncan, 88, a longtime resident of Columbus, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, in Parker, Colo. She had been living with her daughters in Parker and Colorado Springs, Colo., the past four years.

Mrs. Duncan spent a large part of her life providing foster care and day care in her home. She was honored by the mayor of Columbus in 1991 after retiring with 42 years of service to the community.

She was a Christian who worshipped with the 25th Street Church of Christ as well as at Smokey Hill Church of Christ in Aurora, Colo., and Northeast Church of Christ in Colorado Springs.

Born in Bloomington Feb. 11, 1920, Mrs. Duncan was the daughter of Evert and Grace Baxter Marrs. She married Willard Clovis Duncan Oct. 19, 1939.

Survivors include daughters, Jan (Joseph) Finney of Colorado Springs and Karen (Dennis) Houchen of Parker; a brother, Leon Marrs of Bloomington; sisters, Doris Mitchner of Bloomington and Erma Shiflett of Baltimore, Md.; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on July 10, 1999; a daughter, Rita Simmons; five siblings; one grandson; and one greatgrandson.
