Mr. Alston Leon Prater age 67 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away Friday, July 20, 2023 in Sparta.
Alston was born August 30, 1955 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Woodrow Carroll and Christine Waggoner Prater.
He was a longtime employee of Martin's Sawmill and later Tri-State Distribution. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing with his dog, Leo.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by sister Eva Redmond and brothers Roger and Dean Prater.
Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years Portia Brown Prater

His Brothers: Dennis (Rosell) Prater,
Lester (Pat) Prater, Ronnie (Doris) Prater, Glen Prater, Stevie (Tammie) Prater

A host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Services will be conducted from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Old Zion Cemetery. Hunter Funeral Home. Ronnie Taylor will officiate.
