Chester was born on May 6th, 1932, son of the late, John "Otto" Stone and Gussie Worley Stone.
Chester was survived by his loving wife, Rose Stone of Crossville, Tennessee; three daughters, Chesteene Buttram, Violet Barnes, and Clarice Winningham; one son, Jeff Stone; seven sisters, Nellia Allred, Joyce Mills, Ellen Garrett, Doris Hall, Lois Thornton, Anna Marie Dishman, and Geraldine Grimes; four brothers, Fred Hugh Stone, Ronald "Slim" Stone, and Roland "Tubby" Stone, and Richard Stone; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of other family and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by her parents, Otto Stone, who departed this life on July 28th, 1967 and Gussie Stone, who departed this life on March 24th, 1993; one sister, Hester Christeen Stone, who departed this life on July 15th, 1932; and one brother, Ray Franklin Stone, who died in infancy on Christmas Eve, December 24th, 1934.
Funeral services were held in the Chapel of the Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, April 30th, 2000 with Rev. Russell Honeycutt officiating.
Burial was in the Linary Cemetery in Crossville, Tennessee.
