Lela Marie Davis, 85, widow of Caleb Davis, died Sept. 30, 2009, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born Nov. 19, 1923, in Whitley County, Jellico, Ky. She is the daughter of the late Harrison and Cindy Meaders Shepard. She was a homemaker and a member of Lexington Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Luther Lee (Betty) Hodge of Lincoln County, Ky., and Ted (Sherri) Hodge of Danville, Ky.; two sisters, Jan (Frank) Schantz of Somerset, Ky., and Gladys (Bill) Briggs of Crooksville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Kimberly Marie Wall, David Lee Hodge, Melinda Pearl Schagane, Kelsey Hodge and Kandace Hodge; and four great-grandchildren, Todd Wall, Ryan Wall, Kevin Hodge and Kristina Hodge.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Sondra L. Hodge, and two sisters, Arlie McCracken and Margie Williams.

The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Stith Funeral Home with the Rev. Lance Ladd. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Stith Funeral Home.
