She graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1964. Margaret worked as a nurse for St. Mary's and Terre Haute Regional before retiring in 2008. She then volunteered at the Vigo County Library in Terre Haute, Indiana. Margaret was a faithful member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Above all, Margaret loved her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, James E. Welborn of Evansville, IN; daughter, Kelli Welborn Cate of Kingsport, TN; granddaughters, Grace Walker Haynes (Matt) and Anna Renee Walker; great-grandson, Thomas "Tommy" Gideon Haynes; beloved sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; brothers-in-law, Robert Lenn, Bill Koester and Mike Welborn; sister-in-law, Janet Adler; and many beloved aunts and uncles.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 24, 2023 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 2301 N. Stockwell Rd., Evansville, IN 47715 with Father Zach Etienne officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit from 9:00 am until Mass time on Monday at the church.
