Dormis was born in Faubush, Kentucky on Friday, April, 7th, 1950, son of the late Thomas Martin "Frog" Ard and Ersie Marie Johnson Ard.
Dormis was survived by three daughters, Shannon Ard Smith, Marta (and Michael) Farmer, and Melonie Ard; eight grandchildren, Joshua "Cutter" Smith (and Kayla Phelps), Caleb (and Julia) Lockhart, Victoria "Tori" (and Daryl) Kelly, Colin Thompson, Taylor Smith, Jared Farmer, Cayleigh Thompson, and Erin Farmer; four great-grandchildren, Millie James Lockhart, Verlee Preston Lockhart, James Julian Lockhart, and Ava'Lynn Marie Thompson; one brother, Ralph (and Theresa) Ard; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other family, neighbors, and friends who mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Martin "Frog" Ard, who departed this life on June 13th, 2010 and Ersie Marie Ard, who departed this life on June 2nd, 2007; his loving wife of 30+ years, Mary Lou Richardson Ard, whom he married in Faubush, Kentucky on January 26th, 1985 and who departed this life on November 10th, 2015; one brother, Wayne Morgan Ard, who departed this life on October 11th, 2013; and one sister, Regina Geraldine Ard Cox, who departed this life on April 17th, 2000.
Graveside services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 24th, 2023 in the Smith Grove Cemetery in Faubush, Kentucky.
