Harry J. Borth
Funeral service for Harry J. Borth, 279 Peel St., New Hamburg, who died at Stratford Hospital last Wednesday, were conducted at Zion United Church on Saturday.
A native of Mitchell, Mr. Borth had lived in Neustadt and Port Elgin before coming to New Hamburg in 1934. He owned and operated the five cent to a dollar store in New Hamburg, retiring 10 years ago. He was a member of Zion United Church, the church board, the choir and was a past master of New Dominion Masonic Lodge, New Hamburg. He was also a member of the New Hamburg Turf Club, the Wilmot Agricultural Society and the New Hamburg board of trade.
Surviving are his wife, the former Elizabeth Krug whom he married in November, 1921; one brother, Charles, St. Jacobs, and one sister, Mrs. Marie Telford, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Rev. J.B. Moore officiated at the service. Burial was in Riverside cemetery.
The Bruce J. Omand Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
