Funeral services for Evelyn Boriack, 92 of Lincoln, Texas, are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church in Lincoln with Rev. Dale Bohm officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.


Evelyn Malinda Schneider Boriack, the daughter of Marie (Vogel) and Emil Schneider was born on September 23, 1930 in Fedor, Texas.


She was baptized on September 28, 1930 and confirmed on April 2, 1944 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 24:42, "Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming."


She was united in marriage to Richard Carl Boriack on December 27, 1949 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor, Texas by Rev. Ludwig Karcher.


Evelyn was never afraid of hard work. At the age of 13 she would travel to Houston to work as a housekeeper. After she married, she worked in Austin as a housekeeper and nanny. It was in that position that she prepared a meal for Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson. Later she worked as a Child Daycare provider in Houston. Evelyn loved the outdoors, gardening, ranching and cattle. God, church, and family were the mainstays of Evelyn's life. She attended St. John Lutheran Church until she became home bound. She continued with daily devotions at home and communion with Pastor Bohm.


Evelyn passed away the afternoon of Monday, July 17, 2023 at her home in Lincoln.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Boriack; her son, David Michael Boriack; her sister, Lena Beisert, and her three brothers, Bernard Schneider, Monroe Schneider, and Werner Schneider.


Evelyn is survived by her two sons, Robert Boriack & his wife, Jaquita of Carrollton, and Donald Boriack & his wife Karen of Georgetown; daughter-in-law, Catherine Boriack of Katy; grandson Matthew Boriack; Brandi Zabojnik & her husband, Lance & their children; and Brinca Dirr and her daughter; her sister, Marilyn Woelfel of Fedor and sister-in-law, Jeanette Knippa of Lincoln


Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Keith, Matthew Boriack, Jon Knippa, Dale Kelley, Jimmy Boriack, and Jarvis Boriack. Honorary pallbearer will be Ronald Woelfel.
