Eleanor was born in Lockport, New York to Elwin and Lillian Hewitt on October 29,1923. She went to school in Ransomville, New York. She married Howard Steele on March 24, 1951, in Niagara Falls, New York. She graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse for several years in Niagara Falls, New York and in Brandenburg, Kentucky. She was involved in Prayer Group at St. Mark's Methodist Church, Garden Club and volunteered at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital for over 40 years. She enjoyed working in her flower garden, her Faith in Jesus and family was especially important to her.
Eleanor Hewitt Steele is preceded in death by her grandparents William and Mary Morgan, parents Elwin and Lillian Hewitt, siblings Margery Van Etten and Lawrence Hewitt, sister-in-law Margaret Steele, husband Howard Steele, grandson Edward Franco and daughter Janice Steele.
Eleanor Hewitt Steele is survived by her son Kenneth Steele. Grandchildren Christy Stovall and her husband Blake, Catherine Friddle and Wade, Gregg Franco, and Jeremy Franco. Great-grandchildren Rebecca Althen, Brett Bright, Joe Friddle, Alyssa Friddle, Braydon Stovall, Kenneth Franco, Kasyn Franco, Emah Franco, Brooke Stovall, and Kora Franco. Great-great-grandchildren Kayden Bright, Odin Friddle, Maddox Friddle, Anthiea Friddle, Orion Friddle and Jaxson Friddle.
The pallbearers will be Blake Stovall, Kasyn Franco, Brett Bright, Joe Friddle, Max Music, and Luke Music.
