Thomas Rolfe Lasswell, age 80, of Kirksville, MO passed away Sunday, July 16, 2023, in Moberly Regional Hospital. He was born in Williamstown, MO on April 3, 1943, the son of Ernest and Georda (Dillinger) Lasswell.

Surviving are one brother, David Lasswell of Kirksville, MO, one sister, Helen Owen of Kahoka, MO, two sisters-in-law, Joyce Lasswell of Salem, IA, Karen Lasswell of LaBelle, MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Robert and James Lasswell, two brothers in infancy, one brother-in-law, Robert Owen and one nephew, Rick Owen.

Thomas graduated from LaBelle High School Class of 1961. He loyally served his country as a member of the US Airforce for four years. Thomas worked at Electric Wheel in Quincy, IL for sixteen years. Upon moving to Kirksville he worked for twenty-nine years at Westlake Ace Hardware retiring in 2013.

Thomas was a devoted member of the Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville. He was an enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Missouri Tigers sports teams. He loved bluegrass and country music. His favorite season was fall as he enjoyed the splendid autumn colors. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family and friends. Thomas was known and respected for his kindness and decency. He loved life and enjoyed people. His trademark was a beaming smile and he projected a quiet dignity. Thomas will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, July 21, 2023, in the Coder Funeral Chapel in LaBelle, MO. Officiating the services will be Reverend Garrett Trunk.

Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery northeast of Williamstown, MO.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services on Friday.

Casket bearers will be Robby Lasswell, Randy Lasswell, Quinton Alexander, Alex Owen, Hadley Bowen and Thomas Deveny.

Memorials are suggested to the Liberty Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Coder Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 151, LaBelle, MO 63447
