Charlotte R. Cousins, 87, of Haysville, Kansas, passed away Monday morning, July 10, 2023, at Diversicare of Haysville.

Born May 9, 1936, in Hooser, Kansas, she was daughter of Ralph E. and Edith Bell (Edyth Belle) (Barnart) Asbury. She was raised and received her education in Prairie Flower in a one room schoolhouse.

She was united in marriage to William H. "Bill" Cousins on September 9, 1953. The couple made their home in Wichita. Charlotte spent most of her life as a loving mother and homemaker. She worked for a short time outside the home at TG&Y. Bill preceded her in death on June 11, 2023.

She was a member of Hicks Chapel Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #494, serving as Worthy Matron numerous times. She enjoyed needlework, crocheting, knitting, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Charlotte's family includes her daughter, Vicki Carrell and husband, David; her son Randall Cousins and wife, Kathleen; her three grandchildren; and her three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Charlotte was preceded in death by her three brothers, Earl Asbury, Tom Asbury, and Stanley Asbury, and her two sisters, Florella Hankins and Ruth Barger.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 20, 2023 at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Miles Funeral Service. A visitation with the family is scheduled at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 10:00 A.M. until Noon.

A memorial has been established in Charlotte's name for the Haysville Order of the Eastern Star #494. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
