"Veda" Nadene Murphy

Nadene Murphy, 91, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ January 31, 2023. She was born February 28, 1931. She married W.O. (Peasy) Murphy in 1948, who preceded her in death in 1993.

She worked for Texas Instruments in Richardson, Texas for almost 30 years. She sang in a gospel quartet, as well as for her home church, Faith Baptist Church in Princeton, Texas. She was a gifted poetry writer. Nadene will be remembered as a kind, loving, giving person, always ready to reach out with faith and encouragement.

She is preceded in death by several siblings. She was the last surviving sister of Audie Murphy, the most decorated soldier of World War II, and movie actor. She was a staunch supporter of those who honored his memory and sacrifice.

Nadine is survived by six children: Sharon Miller, Sandra Patterson, Rhonda Hoy, Joe Murphy and Marletta, Ricky Murphy and Lisa, Kelly McBride and Dennis, numerous grandchildren, great grandchild and 3 great-great children as well as numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be on February 9th from 3-7 pm at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home in Princeton, Texas.
