Requiem Mass will be said at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the church. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery. Arrangements were made by Whitney and Murphy Funeral Home, 330 N. Second Ave.
Mr. Roddy was born in California and came to Phoenix in 1932 from San Francisco. He was employed at St. Joseph's Hospital from 1932 to 1942 and by the former City of Phoenix transit division from 1942 until 1957, when he retired.
Mr. Roddy was a fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Marcos de Niza Council, and a member of the St. Mary's Dads Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; two sons, John J. Jr. and Michael W.; and two daughters, Barbara and Mary E., all of Phoenix; one sister, Mrs. Virginia Glover and a brother, James, both of San Francisco.
