A good ole boy danced his way through the pearly gates on July 13 2023. Billy Joe Clark died after a brief illness.

Billy Joe succeeded at everything he did in life by working hard and being honest. He farmed in the Shady Dale area in his early life and then went into business with his brother Punch Clark where they owned Clark Brothers Texaco in Marietta. After Billy Joe moved to Ardmore he drove a truck for Bell Stations Trucking until he had the opportunity to take over Clark's Bell Station on South Washington in Ardmore. That bold move changed his family's life all for the better. Opening in November 1976 he and his son and their wives worked together to run a successful business for several years. Later two other sons would join the family business part time. Billy Joe retired from the business in 1999 after 23 years of full service to his customers and friends who always got a good story or joke when they bought gas.

Billy Joe also had a prize-winning farm of Spotted Poland hogs during many years while driving the gas truck and running the family gas station. Billy Joe was a man of many talents including being a caller for the Ardmore Promenaders Square Dance Club and could grow any plant, vegetable or flower to its utmost potential. Most of all he was a great dad and instilled his values and work ethic into his sons to help them become successful.

Billy Joe married Margaret Pursley in 1954 and they had 3 sons. Later he married Carol Miller and they together raised her children.

After Carol passed away in 2009 Billy Joe met his last true love and they've enjoyed 13 wonderful years together. The entire family loves her and considers her to be a saint. Billy Joe loved his dogs Tiffany, DJ, Lucky, and Heidi and the New York Yankees.

Billy Joe is survived by his wife and his 3 sons. Billy Joe is also survived by 2 sisters; grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Margaret and his second wife Carol.

The family asks if you want to honor his memory work hard every day, be honest, and love your family with all your heart.

The family will hold a graveside service in the Newport Cemetery.
