Joyce Cade Wood

Joyce was born in Opp, AL in 1933, where her parents, Wilma and James Cade, raised her.
She completed grade school thru high school and graduated from Opp High School in 1951.
She had many interests, which included medicine, science, history, politics, art, and animals. She loved to spend many hours reading and studying about all of her interests.
For enjoyment, she loved to listen and dance to music, sew, work in the yard with her flowers and garden, travel, cook, and visit family/friends.
Married Robert Wayne Ausbon in 1953 and lived in many states around the US with his various Naval assignments. She gave birth to her daughter Pamela in 1954, son Terry in 1956, and son Andre' in 1957.
She moved to Huntsville, AL, in 1962, to be close to her sister, Gloria Reiswig, and begin employment.
She welcomed Dr. Paul F. Wood and daughter, Dorene Wood, into her life in 1977.
She graduated from Calhoun Community College and Athens State University in 1994.
Before her retirement in 1997, she worked at North Alabama Health Care with her special friend, Julia Billions.
Throughout her life Joyce was always very hard working, thoughtful, generous, loving, caring and supportive.
She loved and appreciated all her family, friends, and the Lord very much.
Above all, she would put everyone ahead of her at all times.
She was loved very much by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Grandchildren include Christy Woods, Jason Miller (Tina), Matthew Miller (Cindy), Brandon Ausbon (Amanda), Taylor Ausbon, Bethany Gullatt, Sarah Gullatt, and Rachel Gullatt.
Great Grandchildren include Mason Miller, Logan Miller, Mylaysha Hester, Rayne Hayes, Cole Ausbon, and Carter Ausbon (expected in August 2017).
She is preceded in her death by husbands, Robert Wayne Ausbon and Paul F. Wood; parents, James F. and Wilma Cade; brother, James C. Cade; sister, Gloria Reiswig; and son, Terry Ausbon.
