Born in 1930 in South Philadelphia, she was raised by loving parents who were first generation Americans. Her father: August Carl Julius Betker was of German descent. Her mother: Edna Mae (Devitt) Betker was as Irish as a Shamrock Leaf.
Although born in America, Milli learned many traditions and customs from the "Old Country" and passed down these traditions to her children.
She married LeMoyne "Lee" Lindsay in 1950, the night before he was sent to the Korean Conflict.
Milli was a Registered Nurse and dedicated her life to helping others.
She was also a dedicated and well studied Christian, and loved to share the Word of God with everyone. She led many Bible studies and discussions, children's church, and brought many souls to know Jesus.
Milli was an avid quilter in her later years and created an astounding number of family heirlooms. Many of her creations have become cherished possessions of her family and will be passed down to future generations. One of her projects was even sent to the Pentagon.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister: Norma Jane Betker.
Milli is survived by her husband of almost seventy-three years: LeMoyne "Lee" Lindsay of Rochester, New York; her daughters: Sandra (Paul) and Julie (Jeffrey); her sons: Keith (Barbara) Lindsay, James (Lisa) Lindsay, and Samuel (Alice) Lindsay; her twelve grandchildren; and, her twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Private Interment in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 09:30 AM.
Family and Friends are invited to a Visitation from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 in Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane, York. A Celebration of Life Service will begin at 12:00 PM.
