Bob also served in the United States Army 1962 - 1964. He retired, at the rank of Lieutenant, from the Shelby County Sheriff's Department after 25 years of dedicated service. He also served with the U.S. Marshal's Office after retiring from the Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Marbry; parents, E.G. and Lorene Marbry, and brothers Edwin Marbry and James Marbry. He is survived by his children Lurae Holmes of Byhalia, MS, Robin David (Mike), Gulf Shores, AL; Patrick Brooks (Sharon), Munford, TN; David Brooks (Maggie), Atlanta, GA; Larry Brooks (Jane), Pensacola FL, and Lauretta Merideth, West Memphis, AR; and brother Tom (Liz) Marbry of Memphis, TN. Bob had 12 grandchildren, 20 grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
