Charles E. Maines Sr., retired assembler


Charles E. Maines Sr., 87, of Newport, formerly of Bellevue, died Wednesday at Baptist Convalescent Center, Newport.

He was a retired assembler from Setco Manufacturing, an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Bellevue Eagles.

His wife, Eileen Wells Maines; sons, James Maines and Tom Duty; and daughters, Carol Cundiff and Rosemary Campbell, preceded him in death.

Survivors include sons, Gary Maines of Fort Thomas, Charles Maines Jr. of Newport, and Danny Maines of Bellevue; daughters, Cathy Cope and Terry Bell, both of Bellevue; a brother, Irvin Maines of Dayton; sisters, Florence Severe of Burnside and Mary Andrews of Texas; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at A.C. Dobbling and Son Funeral Home, Bellevue. Visitation will begin there at 9 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate.

Memorials are suggested to Baptist Convalescent Center, 120 Main St., Newport, Ky. 41071; or Hospice of the Bluegrass-Northern Kentucky, 1403 Alexandria Pike, Fort Thomas, Ky. 41075.
