Horace Lyman Woodworth:
Death claims well known resident of Macomb after long illness
Horace Lyman Woodworth, one of the oldest and best known residents of the town of Macomb, died at his farm home between Brasie Corners and Pope Mills at 3 o'clock last Wednesday afternnon after about eight years of failing health, aged 83 years. For the past two or three years he had been very feeble.
Mr. Woodworth was born in the town of Morristown, November 18, 1832, a son of David and Betsy Hutchins Woodsworth. When he was four years old his parents moved to Macomb and settled on the land which had since been the Woodworth homestead. The land at that time was a wilderness and it was cleared by the older Woodworth assisted by his young sons. For 78 years the deceased made his home there and he was known as a successful farmer. Throughout this life he had been a staunch Republican and he had for a great many years, been active in the affairs of his party. He served his town as supervisor for two terms and for many years he served as a justice of the peace. He took great interest in the affairs of his town and gave freely of his time and talents when called upon to officiate in any capacity and his efforts were always of great value to the community in which his entire life was spent. When a young man he was united in marriage to Miss Marietta Day of Macomb who survives, also two sons, Victor E. Woodworth and Colan M. Woodworth and one daughter, Mrs. H. D. Tann, and also one brother, Samuel Woodworth, all of Macomb. The late A. L. Woodsworth, who for years was connected with the first National Bank of this village was his brother.
The funeral services were very largely attended from the late home at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon, Rev. D. A. Ferguson, pastor of the Hammond Presbyterian Church officiating and burial was made in the Woodworth cemetery near his old home.

Last will and testament:
I, Horace L. Woodworth of the town of Macomb COunty of St Lawrence and state of New York do make, ordain, publish and declare this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say:
First: I direct the payment of my just debts if any

3rd: I bequeath to my son V. E. Woodworth, the sum on one dollar.
4th: I bequeath to my son C. M. Woodworth the sum of two thousand dollars and what personal property I have excepting what currency I may be possed of.
5th: I bequeath to my daughter, Cora Church the sum of one thousand dollars
6th: I bequeath to my daughter, Bertha A. Tann the sum of one thousand dollars.
Likewise, I make, constitue and appoint Victor E. Woodworth to be my executor of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former will by me made.
