GALESBURG, Michigan— Minnie Charlotte "Penny" Burlingham Mulder Roney Mays Miller was born on July 16, 1923 in Quincy, Michigan, to Donald Burlingham and Myrtle Merchant Burlingham.

Penny was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 350 of Kalamazoo and Portage and the VFW Post #6252 of Comstock.

Penny was married to Frances Ray Mays, known as Ray Mays, who proceeded her in death in 1979.

Since 1981, Penny and Clarence Miller have been a part of each other's lives in Galesburg. Penny and Clarence loved flowers inside and around their home. Penny and Clarence loved their two dogs "Sissy" and "Pooker" as if they were their children. Penny also enjoyed gardening and crocheting.

Penny has three step children. Jacqueline Kae Mays Heacock of Galesburg and Sandra Snyder and her husband, Doug Snyder of Mattawan, Gene Miller and his wife, Lee Miller Jr. of Portage; three brothers and their wives; Dwine Burlingham and Deborah of North Carolina, Donald Burlingham and Louis of Kalamazoo, Warren Burlingham and Lucille of Cooper; five sisters, Edith Burlingham Mulder of Kalamazoo, Genevieve Burlingham Boehm and Theodore Boehm of Richland, Shirley Burlingham Turner of Comstock, Ernestine Burlingham Camfield and Forrest Camfield of Lawton, Patricia Burlingham Born and John Born of Comstock; eight grandchildren, Chris Keeler and Joseph Keeler, Charvel Heacock and Jon Heacock, Toshika Miller, Chrisy Miller, Gene Miller, and J.D. Miller; four great grandchildren, Kayleigh Emmons, Desera Scott, Sean Mays, and Brenden Keeler; many nieces and nephews.

Penny died at Borgess Nursing Home on Thursday morning, June 22, 1995. Friends may call at the Rupert, Durham, Marshall, and Gren Funeral Home, Vicksburg Chapel, on Sunday from 3-5 PM where celebration of life Services will be held on Monday at 1 PM.

Penny will be buried in Boughton Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the Visiting Nurses Association of Kalamazoo.
