She was married to Peter Alexander Bostian who died in 1860.
She married Daniel Deal December 15, 1870 and to this union was born four sons,; David Calvin, Jeremiah Columbus, Daniel Ruben, and Jacinth Trexler (Jason).
∼Barbra Catherine Shive was born in Cabarrus County North Carolina. She was one of 2 children born to Reuben Shive and Elizabeth (Long) Shive. Later she had 6 half brothers and sisters. She married Peter Alexander Bostian 9th October 1856. They had 3 children: Elizabeth Margaret Ann, Washington, and Peter Alexander Bostian. Peter Bostian died or was killed during Civil War on 8 August 1860. She married Daniel Deal 15th of December 1870 and they had 4 sons David Calvin, Jeremiah Columbus, Daniel Reuben and Jacinth Trexler (Jason) Deal. She and the boys made the run during the Cherokee Strip Opening. Her husband, Daniel died 15th December 1890 in Ulysses Kansas and is buried in Shockey Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Barbara C. Deal, 93, who died February 19 at the home of her son, P.A. Bostian, 8 miles south and 4 miles west of Stillwater, were conducted by Rev. Carl Stone of the Perkins Baptist church, burial being in Elm Grove cemetery.
The deceased was born January 1, 1837, near Concord, N.C. She was married to Peter A. Bostian, who died in 1860. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughter. One son died in infancy. The daughter, Mrs. John Lentz, died about 15 years ago, the other son, P.A. Bostian, surviving.
Mrs. Bostian was married to Daniel Deal in December, 1870. This this union there were born four sons, one of whom died. The others are Jerry, Daniel and Jason Deal, living near Billings.
Among the surviving relatives are 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons and great-grandsons. Willis Deal and Arthur Deal, grandsons, of Billings, and Albert, Arthur, Roosevelt and Harvie Bostian, great-grandsons, all of near Perkins.
