Desmond Call Service Held
Desmond Call, 76, of Soda Springs, passed away Saturday Aug. 9, 1997 at home. He was born Sept. 20, 1920 at Soda Springs, the son of Frank and Emily Kapaki Call.
He lived in Wayan for 70 years and Soda Springs for the past five years. He was educated at Wayan and Soda Springs, graduating from Soda Springs High School in 1938.
He married Vera Broadbent, Oct. 6, 1944 at Soda Springs.
He was a member of the Soda Springs LDS First Ward. He served in the U.S. Army in heavy artillery during WWII. He enjoyed ranching and retired from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife.
He is survived by his wife, , Vera Call, Soda Springs; two sons and two daughters and their spouses. Lance D and Sharida Call, Preston, Russell and Linda Call, Emily Neeser and Kathy Call, all of Soda Springs. Also surviving are 10 grand children; one brother and four sisters, Ben Call Soda Springs, Millie Nyman, Brigham City, Utah, May Phelps, Soda Springs, Aloma Hussey, Downey and Eliza Lei Sibbett Wayan.
Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, Aug 13, at 12 noon, at the Soda Springs LDS 1st and 5th ward chapel located at 3rd East and 3rd South. Burial was in the Fairview Cemetary.
