Son of George Washington Brasier-Creagh and Averina (née Sherlock) Bradier-Creagh.


Born with the surname of Brasier-Creagh, later changed to Brazier-Creagh.


Educated at Portarlington School, Portarlington, County Laois, Ireland.


Gained the rank of Captain in the Imperial Light Horse. Fought in the Boer War, where he was wounded, and the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches. Gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Artillery.


Married Agnes Fanny Marland on 7 February 1907.
