He was married to his first wife, Edna Earl Harris on June 12, 1898. Their son, Sydney A. Polley, was born March 5, 1899 and died March 5, 1899. Sydney is buried in the Cooper-Harris Cemetery in Sabine County. Ralph married his second wife, Rosalie L. Lister, on April 29, 1903. They had a child, William Lister 'Bill' Polley (1907-1971).
