Dwayne Lee Scott, age 69, of Westville, and a longtime resident of Portage passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, March 28, 2008. He was born on February 26, 1939 in Gary, IN the son of Walter and Margaret Scott. Dwayne attended East Gary High School, and worked at the Pullman-Standard in Hammond, then worked for over 33 years at Bethlehem Steel in the Burns Harbor Plant from which he recently retired. Dwayne and his friend Butch were well known as the "A Team" in recent years as part of SG Builders. Dwayne was an avid model train lover and loved cruising in his classic truck. He put everyone first and was the most unselfish, giving man who put his family ahead of everything. Dwayne is survived by his loving family; his wife of 40 years Judith Scott, Westville, two sons; Randall (Cynthia) Shirey, Chapin, SC, and Kevin (Nycole) Scott, Westville, four daughters; Gloria (Stephen) Heideman, Westville, Pennie (Charles) Ehlers, Evansville, Kelly Shirey, Portage, April (Tony) Warwick, Pineville, LA, 11 grandchildren, Brian Ball, Erica Geiselman, Hollie Baxter, Heather Ehlers, Elizabeth Shirey, Arianna, Haylee, and Ella Scott, Aubrey, Gage, and Alexandria Warwick, great-grandchildren Lilian Ball and Kheyanna Riley, two brothers Richard Spargo and Joseph Spargo, sister Helen Coleman, and lifelong close friend Talbot "Butch" Moon. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Elizabeth "Betty" Grishka and Peggy Jackson, and brother Donald Scott. A visitation for Dwayne Scott will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, March 31, 2008 at Rees Funeral Home � Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service for Dwayne Scott will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at Rees Funeral Home with Pastor Don Good, officiating. Burial will be at McCool Cemetery in Portage.
