LOWELL - John W. Riggins, age 72, of Lowell died March 28, 2008, at Northwest Arkansas Medical Center-Springdale. He was born July 7, 1935, in Watonga, Okla., to Clifford Lewis and Julia Irene Jaro Riggins. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Centerton. He retired from the Springdale Fire Department after 20 years of service. He was the owner of John Riggins Construction and active with CAR Transportation. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping and rockin' babies.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie L. Watkins Riggins; sister, Billie Dean Powers and daughter, Suzanne Michele Bennett.

He is survived by his wife, Ima Lee Broyles Riggins of the home; five sons, Robby Zane Riggins of Springdale, Jeff Swiggart and wife, Susan, of Texas, Chris Riggins and wife, Krystal, of Fayetteville, Jimmy Bennett and wife, Patty, of Gravette and Mark Bennett and wife, Desiree, of Centerton; five daughters, Robin Travis and husband, Mike, Sheila Tisdale and husband, Bobby, all of Springdale, Sherri Riggins of Lowell and Tammi Ritta and husband, Mike, of Missouri and Kathy Pierdon of Fayetteville; four brothers, Clifford L. Riggins Jr. and wife, Alice Ann, Robert Lee Riggins and wife, Judy, Jim Riggins and wife, Carolyn, all of Springdale and Donald Wayne Riggins and wife, Bernice, of Lowell; one sister, Mary Ann Hunt of Springdale; 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. today at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale, online at www.siscofuneral.com.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2008, at Sisco Funeral Chapel in Springdale with Pastor Stuart Bell and Pastor Cliff Palmer officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Charlie Coger, George Davis, Johnny Baker, Chris Riggins, Jason Travis and Jeff Swiggart.
