Rosemary Bridget Gilbert. February 26, 2008. Age 71.

Mrs. Gilbert was born December 24, 1936 in Highland Park, Michigan to Francis McGinnity and Bridget Agnes McCaffrey. She spent much of her youth in Detroit where she attended and graduated from St. Cecelia School in 1953. In January of 1958, she married her sweetheart George Gilbert. Shortly after they married, the two moved to Royal Oak where they spent the next 42 years living.

Rosemary was an avid churchgoer and dedicated parishioner at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan. In addition to attending church daily, she also loved helping out with church luncheons and joined many church committees.

Rosemary's personality certainly reflected her commitment to Catholic values. She has often been described as the most giving, caring, selfless person on the planet by those who knew her best. These kind traits, in addition to her incredible patience, earned her the love and friendship of those that she encountered.

Rosemary was very proud of her Irish heritage and travelled to Ireland as often as possible. When not traveling, she enjoyed visiting with her many friends, gardening, golfing, and bowling in her bowling league.

Beloved wife of 50 years to George R. Gilbert "Richard".

Dear mother of Maureen, Kristen Krzystowczyk (Michael), Mark (Barbara), Thomas (Christine), Susan Johnson, Elizabeth Chihak (Brian) and John (Andrea). Grandmother of 17 and great-grandmother of Declan.
