Gary Black, age 74, of Cunningham, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 6, 2023.
Celebration of Life will be held 2 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2023 at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow at Gum Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 6 p.m. and again on Monday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

A Masonic Service will be held Sunday at 6 p.m. following the visitation.

Gary entered this life on September 22, 1948, in Clarksville, TN to the late Elton and Roby Trotter Black. He was a devoted member of Gum Spring Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and head of the Cemetery Committee. Gary was a member of Masonic Lodge #402 and was in the corrugated paper sales industry for over 50 years. He was two weeks away from retiring from Valley Packaging. Gary enjoyed his career and taking his family and friends with him on sales calls. He was a pillar of his community and will be missed by his family and many friends. Gary loved traveling, driving his Corvette, and spending time with his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed farming, being on his tractor, and attending car shows. Gary was a former member of the Corvette Club. He was a devoted husband, caring father, loving grandfather, and most recently, a great-grandfather.

Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Kay McClain Black; son, James Black, and his wife Sandi; daughter, Jessica Black Sanderson and her husband, Derek; grandchildren Kayla (Micah), Tate, Gracie, Oakley, Jace, Ace, Paige, and Kade, great-granddaughter, Ellie James and one on the way, Miley Jo.

Pallbearers will be James Black, Derek Sanderson, Tate Black, Micah Candler, Casen Cunningham, Jason McClain, Darnell "Bub" Black, and John Granato, Jr.

His youngest grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.
