JOAN MARY DENOE

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, 1999, in St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Cornelius for Joan Mary Denoe, who died May 17 of pancreatic cancer at age 65.

Mrs. Denoe was born May 3, 1934, in Brush, Colo., and was raised in Hillsboro. Her maiden name was Furby. She graduated from Hillsboro High School and from Good Samaritan Hospital School of Nursing in 1955. She was a registered nurse in Tuality Hospital and other hospitals, including in Alaska, periodically for more than 30 years before her retirement in 1991, when she moved to Savannah, Ga. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hillsboro and a current member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Savannah. In 1953, she married Jack.

Survivors include her husband; son, Jeffrey of Chicago; daughters, Julie Denoe and Jennifer Evans, both of Chicago; brother, James Furby of La Jolla, Calif.; sisters, Alice Voges of Tillamook, Elaine Baltes of Lake Oswego, and her twin, Jean Jesse of Portland; and three grandchildren.

Interment will be in Blooming Cemetery near Cornelius. The family suggests remembrances to the building fund of Trinity Lutheran Church 12391 Mercy Blvd., Savannah, GA 31419, or Forest Hills Lutheran School in Cornelius. Arrangements are by Bronleewe-Bass Funeral Home.
