Former Lyon County Man Dies
Bushong, Feb. 20.-Word has been received by Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Gray of the death of Mr. Gray’s brother, Will Gray, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Eva Gorman, who lives at Los Angeles, Calif. Mr. Gray spent the greater part of his live near Allen and at the W.F. Gray home near Bushong. He was born June 3, 1847, at Maxville, Ohio, and died on Saturday, February 16, 1935, at the age of 87. He was married to Miss Sarah Dowds in Ohio. They were the parents of three children, all of whom survive. The children are: Mrs. Eva Gorman and Mrs. Minnie Simmons, both of Los Angeles, and Dr. James Gray, of Watson, Mo. Besides his children, he is survived by three grandchildren, Miss Faye Gorman, Harry Gorman and Vern Joyce, all of Los Angeles and one brother, W.F. Gray, of the Bushong community.
The body will be brought to Emporia this afternoon and funeral services will be held in the Allen Methodist church. Interment will be in the Elmwood cemetery at Bushong. The relatives from California war not expected to be here for the funeral services, but Dr. and Mrs. James Gray, of Watson, Mo., will attend. They also attended the funeral services for Mrs. James Gray’s mother, Mrs. Craig Anderson, in Americus Tuesday.
