Mrs. Dorothy Newell and Paul (Buck) Alfrey, both of Shidler, were united in marriage November 17 at 1 pm. at the home of his cousin Mrs. Ann Pierce, in Miami, Okla. The Rev. A. J. Clark of the Baptist Church of Miami performed the double ring ceremony in front of the fireplace, which was beautifully decorated in wedding fernery and flowers. For her wedding the bride chose a blue crepe street length afternoon dress, with accessories to match. She wore crystal earrings and necklace and her corsage was pink carnations and red rosebuds.
She also wore the traditional something old, new, borrowed and blue. Her gown was in blue and she borrowed an article of clothing from Mrs. Pierce to wear, and a handkerchief from a Mrs. Smith, one of the guests, to carry. After the ceremony, Mrs. Pierce honored the couple and the few personal friends present with a dinner. For her going away costume the bride wore a beige double-knit suit, with black accessories.
They spent a week touring Arkansas, Texas and New Mexico. Mrs.
Alfrey has been employed with the Oklahoma Tire Supply Store for some years. Mr. Alfrey is an employe at the Phillips Petroleum Co Shidler. They are at home in Shidler.
