Mrs. Henrietta Strubbe, 86, for 29 years a resident of Leonia and one of the founders of Trinity Lutheran Church, died last Saturday at Englewood Hospital after a long illness. She was taken to the hospital for care just after the big storm of Dec. 26, in the Borough Ambulance, many citizens cooperating in the effort to get her to the hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Blackley Funeral Home in Morsemere and the Rev. R. Donald Clare, pastor of Trinity Church in which Mrs. Strubbe had so long been an active worker, officiated. Burial followed at Hoboken Cemetery, North Bergen.
Mrs. Strubbe was born in Germany. She came to the United States in 1876. For years she resided in New York and was a member of the Kreis-Wittlager Damen Verein. At its fiftieth anniversary celebration a few years ago she was the oldest member present and the only living charter member.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Stanton Bower of Hillcrest Ave., with whom she made her home, five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Also a son William A. Strubbe of the Bronx.
