William H. Strubbe was the son of Johan Henrich Frederich Strubbe and Katharina Elizabeth Magnah of Harpenfeld, Germany. He emigrated 15 Sep 1871 on board the Bremen sailing from Bremen, Germany, to NYC, with his sister, Eleonore, and Christoph Strubbe. He married Henrietta Friederike Wesler on 22 Jun 1881 in Manhattan. They had 5 children, three survived. For years the Strubbes ran the Kroger & Strubbe eating house located at 27 Frankfort Street in NYC, residing at 26 Rose. Later, William was a ticket agent on the elevator railroad. When he died in 1917 his residence was 2486 Tiebout Ave., Bronx, NY.
