Brian C. Emery, age 47, of McKinney, Texas, passed away March 25, 2008, in Dallas. Brian was born June 28, 1960, in Nevada, Iowa, to Donald W. and Roberta I. (Geary) Emery. He married Amber Oldham September 4, 1999; she survives. Brian was employed as an underwriter for Zurich Insurance in Dallas. Brian was an active member of Grace Community Church of Plano, Texas. He loved cars, sports, sports memorabilia, and anything to do with water. He answered to "Droopy" and always looked forward to the guys' lake trip. He has been a volunteer in the community through church, Boys Club, and Habitat for Humanity. He was often in pain but few knew it due to his ready smile. Brian was a loving husband and super daddy and was easily engaged in arguments regarding who loved whom "the most- est". He is in heaven today and will be greatly missed by those left behind. Brian is survived by his wife, Amber, and his children Grant and Isaac Emery. He is also survived by his parents, Donald and Roberta Emery of Drexel, Mo.; his brother Gerald Emery of Harrisonville, Mo., and two sisters, Karla Ream of Paola, Kan., and Sonja Burchett of Freeman, Mo. Visitation will be from 5:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2008, at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel, (816) 657-4400. A funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Drexel United Methodist Church, with Rev. Marilyn Niemeyer officiating. Burial will follow in Sharon Cemetery near Drexel.
