Rosie L. Granat, age 77, of Wibaux, Montana, formerly of Golva, North Dakota, died on Friday, April 28, 2006 at the Wibaux County Nursing Home in Wibaux. A Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Sunday, April 30, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Golva. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 1, 2006 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Golva with Rev. Fr. David Mormon officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Golva. Silvernale-Silha Funeral Home of Beach, North Dakota is entrusted with arrangements. Rosie Leona Marciniak was born September 3, 1928 in Beach, North Dakota, the daughter of John and Veronica (Efta) Marciniak. She was raised south of Wibaux. Rosie was educated in country schools and attended high school at St. Thomas Home in Great Falls, Montana, graduating with the class of 1946-1947. Following her graduation from high school, Rosie moved to Golva and went to work in a café for Ed and Liz Susa. That is where she met Richard Granat. She married Richard at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Golva on June 7, 1956. After her marriage, Rosie worked as a telephone operator out of her home. Rosie began working at the Golva Schools as a teacher's aid after her daughters started school. Everyone enjoyed seeing her smiling face as they went through the lunch line. She also worked as a book keeper for the Golva School board. Rosie was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and St. Mary's Altar Society. She loved to sew and could spend hours at her sewing machine. One of her favorite things to do, was writing to all of her friends in the priesthood to let them know that they were in her thoughts and prayers. Rosie touched a lot of people throughout her life, with her letters, cards, phone calls, warm smiles, and all the things she sewed for people. Rosie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard, a daughter, Cecilia; three sisters, Edvigen Marciniak, Cecilia Marciniak and Helen Bruski; two brothers, John and Raymond Marciniak. Rosie is survived by her daughter Karen Amundson and her husband Mike of Fargo, North Dakota; two grandsons, Adam and Seth Amundson of Fargo: seven sisters, Pauline Dobrowski, Sophie Goroski, Theresa Dobrowski and her husband Joe, Verna Sokoloski and Anna Marciniak all of Wibaux, Montana, Marion Wosepka of Dickinson, North Dakota and Elizabeth Susa of Baker, Montana
