Kathy was born December 28, 1954, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Carl and Mildred (Reschke) Hillmann. She grew up in the town of Rockland and attended school in Reedsville and graduated with the class of 1973. On April 23, 1977, she married Gary Wallander at St. John-St. James Ev. Lutheran Church in Reedsville. Kathy worked at Leverenz shoe factory until the birth of her daughter, she then babysat in Whitelaw until she went back to work at KI in Manitowoc as a production worker until her retirement in 2015. Kathy enjoyed her family, she loved fishing, camping, traveling, and flower and vegetable gardening.
Survivors include her husband: Gary Wallander, Whitelaw; daughter: Amy Wallander, Brillion; two fur grandbabies: Murphy Lane and Oliver James; two brothers and three sisters-in-law: Jerome (Rosemary) Hillmann, Brillion, William (Nancy) Hillmann, Reedsville and Ethel Hillmann, Reedsville; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Debbie (Mike) Peterson, Manitowoc and Wendy (Steve) Schuler, Manitowoc, Doug (Cathy) Wallander, Crivitz; nieces; nephews; other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Carl and Mildred Hillmann; brother: Russell Hillmann; sister and brother-in-law: Phyllis (Gerald) Reichart; an infant sister; parents -in-law: Robert and Elaine Wallander; and two fur grandbabies: Bentley George and Parker Louis.
A private family service has been held at Knollwood Mausoleum Chapel.
