29 Jan 1983: H. Josephine Miller, wife of Adam D. Miller, 217 E. Maple St., Annville, died Wednesday, Sept 28, 1983, in the Leader Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center, Lebanon. She was 75. Born in Portland, Ore., she was a daughter of the late Harry and Harriet Bomgardner Yake. She was a former teacher at Marysville High School and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, Annville, where she was chairman of the Social Ministry Committee and a member of the choir. She was the first woman in Lebanon County to be elected to the Lutheran Church Council and was a founder of the Annville Senior Citizens group; a member of the American Association of University Women and the Annville Rotary Anns; and a volunteer in the Lebanon VA Medical center and Good Samaritan Hospital. She was graduated from Lebanon High School in 1926 and Lebanon Valley College in 1930. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Owen D. Miller, Baltimore; one grandchild; and brothers H. Foster Yake, Lebanon, and David Yake, New Bern, N.C. [Lebanon Daily News]
