Merrilyn Gay Foutz Dickinson completed her earthly mission and returned to her Heavenly Father on June 29, 2023. Although we are deeply saddened by the loss we feel at this time, we are equally joyful that she is being reunited with her eternal companion.

Merrilyn was born February 29, 1936 (a leap year baby), in Salt Lake City, Utah to Grace and John Foutz. She was the 2nd of 6 siblings. She grew up in the downtown Salt Lake City area, where she met the love of her life, Keith. They were married on January 9, 1957, later sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple December 11, 1964. They were blessed with 3 sons, moved to the Kearns area, where they raised, loved and cherished them. She was extremely happy when they all got married, that's how she gained her 3 daughters.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings throughout her life. She enjoyed serving as a member locator missionary for the church for 18 months. You would find her always hugging people and she never missed an opportunity to get to know a new face. She had many cherished friends.

Merrilyn had many things she loved but first and foremost was her husband and family. A few of her passions included, reading, solving crossword puzzles, making ceramics, crocheting, sewing and she always loved the challenge of a good old cross-stitch. With her spouse she was able to travel and they had many wonderful experiences. Cooking for her family (and we might add was a wonderful cook), was something she would do weekly for Sunday dinners, as well as Christmas parties and other gatherings. That's probably why she found herself working as a lunch manager and worked for the Granite School District for several years.

She is survived by her sons; Ron (Chris) Dickinson, Mark (Tina) Dickinson, Kent (Lezli) Dickinson, sister-in-laws Lola Sedgwick, Jeniene Dickinson, Sharon Foutz and Jeri Jenkins; brother-in-law Mike Daskalas. She leaves behind a legacy of many grandkids, great-grandkids, great-great grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Keith Dickinson and several loving family members whom she is now reunited with. What a reunion! We are sure you are celebrating by eating lots of chocolate with them!
