Bertha Tolman Passes Away.
Bertha May, a seven years old daughter of Jaren and Emma Tolman, departed this life at her home early last Sunday morning. The funeral services were held in the Tabernacle Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Norwithstanding the very unfavorable weather a great many people attended the funeral. The bereaved parents may feel assured that they have the sympathy of the whole community in the loss of their little daughter.
The following account is given of her sickness and death by her parents: "At first she was taken with a severe pain in her chest and bowels and we thought she had the rheumatic fever; later we suposed it was the canker and worms, but after she had been sick for nearly a week Dr Stringham was summoned and he said she had the pneumonia. He gave her some medicine and we called in the elders, after which we thought she was improving until March 15th, when she had to struggle very hard for her breath, but still she was stronger and we thought she was getting better until the night of the 17th or morning of the 18th, when she passed away. We now think she must have been troubled with heart disease as she died in a moment without even a struggle about 12:5 am. March 18th, 1894.
